Glossary
Terms used in our material data sheets and certificates.
- Batch
- A group of vials produced together, sharing the same analysis and the same printed number.
- Certificate of analysis (COA)
- A report issued by the laboratory that analyzed a batch, stating its purity and identity results.
- Chromatogram
- The graph produced by HPLC. Each peak represents a component of the sample.
- Endotoxins
- Bacterial cell-wall residues that may interfere with cell-based assays. Measured for selected batches.
- HPLC
- High-performance liquid chromatography. Separates the components of a sample in order to measure purity.
- Lyophilized
- Material dehydrated by freeze-drying under vacuum; the most stable form in which to store a peptide.
- Mass spectrometry (MS)
- A technique that measures molecular mass, used to confirm the identity of a peptide.
- Net content
- The actual quantity of peptide in the vial, which may differ slightly from the declared amount.
- Purity
- The percentage of the sample that corresponds to the declared peptide.
- RUO
- Research Use Only: material intended exclusively for research, not for human or veterinary use.
- Sequence
- The order of amino acids that make up a peptide, defining it chemically.
